How is the organized crime situation in the US and other parts of the world?

NYC and Chicago are known to have mafias. Houston is known to have a lot of traffickers, and there's a lot of mexican gang activity along the southern border too. And the CIA interacts with them to import addictive drugs in to the US

It seems to me that there is a massive infrastructure for drugs, hookers, etc. Probably setup during the time that alcohol was forbidden.

Pretty sure that the war on drugs has more to do with it.
