Do you have any sense of how many nodes you can use before speed or memory start to become an issue?

I'm not the author of the project but you could probably ask on their github link.

I don't think it would be much of an issue though. Nasa recently demoed an orbital calculator with JavaFX https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6O9V5nc13h8
