What Airports Were Like in 1987. How times have changed. Imagine a time when you could pull up to the airport 20 minutes before a departing flight and know that you—and your bag—had a good chance of making the flight.

I know a guy who still does this.

It panics the staff so they rush him through.

He only flights between England and Ireland though so if he misses a flight there's usually one in another couple of hours so it's not too big of a risk.
