South Jersey natives are sometimes called "Pineys" because we live in the Pine Barrens. (It was a derogatory term that was kind of like saying redneck or hillbilly.) It's more of a local, fun term. People here sell T-shirts that say "Piney Power". The series is about a family that's lived in the Pine Barrens since the time of the birth of the Jersey Devil. Mother Leeds (the Jersey Devil's mother) was a witch and opened the portals to Hell, flooding the Pine Barrens with hundreds of devils. This did not go unnoticed by the villagers in nearby Abe's Hat. The hunters there banded together forming a secret society to hunt down the hellspawn, send them back to the Abyss and close the portals forever.
This is the story of four cousins, brought together by destiny, cursed by their ancestors and trying to keep South Jersey from going to Hell.
