Anyone can become like God, as children of God, through faith in Jesus Christ and obedience to his commandments. There will be people from Japan and Romania together in heaven around the throne of God.

That's not the moral of the story, nor is the 'person of the year' a prize or award.

Four German chancellors were people of the year, (as was Hitler when he was chancellor).

Nevertheless, as a result of the public backlash it received from the American audience for naming Khomeini Man of the Year in 1979, the magazine's editors have since shied away from using figures who are controversial in the United States, fearing reductions in sales or advertising revenue.
