That one guy keeps saying the same thing over and over, it is so frustrating trying to get through this even on 2x speed.

The only point they made is that homosexuality leads to social decline. But they also said that it is the natural result of opulence, or social success. Thier ideas are very basic.

If I were there I would ask why they think some people not reproducing in a society with a very high population is bad. Why is that even considered decline. In and of itself it seems to be neither good nor bad and only can be painted as either when there is a very high or very low birth rate.

It's instinct.

What is?

Wanting to increase birth rates as much as possible.

It is instinct to kill the competition. That is why step kids are the most abused of any category.

They also don't encourage homosexuality even in thier enemies.

Nope.

In humans have been hunter gatherers far longer than civilised and in a hunter gatherer society population growth equals death.

Which is exactly why there's such a strong instinct to increase birth rates to replace those dead.

No, high birth rates cause deaths tribal societies because they rely on the resorces avaliable in their environment and can't make more. Fertility is a negative in those cultures. They do all sorts of things from extended breast-feeding to infanticide to keep the population down.

Fertility was only celebrated once farming came along because every child was a free labourer. It isn't human instinct to increase the population, that's culture. You can see instinct play out on people's choices in the free-est places, they have 2-3 kids to replace themselves.

Our society is very much built for the farmer-minded. Those who think differently not only struggle, but are considered horrible people.
