So i guess homo antecessor is included in the neanderthal line, alone with denisovans, heidelbergensis and idaltu... the list of possible ancestors for humanity keeps getting pushed back - the split with neanderthals/denisovans was believed to be 744,000 years ago (back in 1998 they thought 150,000), - but with the loss of homo antecessor, that pushes it back close to a million.
