Yes, it will stay as reddit.local unless you get a different domain. Your self-signed SSL cert is configured for reddit.local, so you want to keep using it.

Did you run that command on your desktop PC or the Reddit server?

Cool, that's correct. So what happens when you visit reddit.local in your browser? What happens when you ping reddit.local? The Reddit code will redirect to reddit.local no matter what, it's expected.

It has an infinite load. No errors.

sudo reddit-stop
# wait for load to be reasonable
sudo reddit-start

If there is a meaningful error it will get logged to /var/log/syslog
