Go to your username preferences (at the top right).

Under the 'subscriptions' region, there is a selection called 'unsubscribe from all subs'. Select 'yes' and it will unsubscribe you from all subs.

Let me know if you need any more help!

Is one automatically subscribed when new subs are created? I want to make sure I am updated on new subs.

No, existing users are not subscribed to newly-created subs. To see the newest subs you can go to https://saidit.net/subs/new/

However please note that the "home" and "all" tabs show very similar things (/r/ads is removed, basically) and it's only the "subscribed" tab that is changed by changing subscriptions

I used the option in preferences (on the site through the internal webview) to unsub all, but the app still tells me I have 10 front page subs when the site says I have 0.

I see you mentioned that this only affects the subscribed tab, maybe this is the root of my confusion but the terminology 'front page subs' seems to be self-contradictory 🤔

I'm not sure where you are seeing this list of "front page subs"?

Are you just talking about this bit of text here:

click the subscribe or unsubscribe buttons to choose which subs appear on your front page.

I can change that to say 'your subscribed page' I suppose, since that'd be more accurate.

edit: That's done, let me know if you have any other issues

Comparing this with this and still getting this

Note: I see the previews aren't working there, you'll have to click 'get the file', sorry 😜

For your subscriptions to matter, you have to view the 'subscribed' button at the top. You're currently viewing 'home' which is similar to 'all'

Yes I understand that, but my point is the app still lists all those subs under subscribed, although the website (correctly) says I have 0 subscriptions. In the app, 'Front Page' is the same as 'All Subs' (/hot == /s/all/hot), and I don't see a way to view an equivalent of /s/subscribed.

Oh I see. I think the app has 10 default subscriptions, it's just some weird feature of the app that came built in to it. Sorry for the inconvenience

Nice about the home tab! Thank you!

No problem, let me know if there's anything else I can help you with

Is there a reason that "Home" and "All" are so similar? I was initially confused because subs that I had explicitly unsubscribed from kept showing up in "Home." I didn't realize that one had to click on "Subscribed" to achieve similar functionality to Reddit's "Home" page.

Alternatively, is there any way to redirect Saidit's homepage to Subscribed or change preferences so that it is the default that shows up when one clicks the Saidit icon?

EDIT: Just found the option in preferences to redirect the homepage to subscribed. Still, what is the rationale behind having "Home" and "All" display such similar content?

Home is /all with a few things removed like /s/ads. It's a filtered /all, basically
