There are a whole lot of remarkable things happening here.

  1. That woman is too stupid to live. If she survived this, she will step in front of a bus soon anyway. Some people are just too self absorbed to be able to function in society.

  2. China as a society does not value human life in the slightest. There is no way for the parking garage to sense the presence of a loose human being in its bowels. Even a car wash has motion detectors and electric eyes in the US. It should be interlocked all to heck and gone. The dropping elevator platform should sense that nothing is on it or around it before moving, and a moving barrier or gate should drop down around its perimeter before it moves. Likewise, before the conveyor belt launches the car onto the elevator, it should also check for the presence of a rogue human.

  3. There are people who cannot take care of themselves and have no sense of self preservation. What if that was a toddler or an elderly person who couldn't move fast or think things through? What if it was someone in a wheelchair? What if it was your family dog?

  4. The combination of all of these things points to deadly outcomes once in a while. They will continue for as long as Chinese culture accepts this "dog eat dog" world with no consequence to what we would consider major safety violations in everyday life.

Anyone know if she died?

China as a society does not value human life in the slightest.

Corporations don't care about human life in any country.

The reality is China does not have the same Tort (civil wrong) laws, so there's no economic incentive.

That woman is too stupid to live

After watching the gif the thought that came to mind was "natural selection"

1- She wonders around, not even noticing where she enter because she's too distracted by her phone.

2- Notices she's trapped and STILL doesn't put away her phone and try to look for an exit.

3- notices the elevator moving and STIll doesn't let go of her phone to try and deal with the situation and get ready to react.

4 Still holding her cellphone a car appears in front of her, obvious what's going to happen, she's still holding her phone instead of trying to figure out how to react.

5- Instead of trying to jump on top of the hood, she just walks in to the incoming car that's just in front of her while holding the phone.

Moral: When you're in deep shit put away the phone and think how you're getting out. If she's usually like I'm amazed how she survived so far, maybe she was drunk or something.

Chinese culture accepts this "dog eat dog" world.

Actually the phrase "dog eat dog" is a modern competitive inversion of the proper latin phrase: ""canis caninam non est" roughly saying that dog does not eat dog, as seen in nature. Therefore, the Chinese are completely foreign to either of these phrases, even though the Chinese do eat dogs themselves and consider them a tasty delicacy.

Kind of similar to Americans eating "hot-dogs", but not really.

I know. I was trying to point out that Chinese society absolutely does not care about anything but profit and screwing over other people. Human safety is WAYYY down that list.

Apparently she survived and only suffered minor injuries. It says her left leg was trapped under the wheel: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5155281/Woman-hit-car-automated-parking-lift.html

She got super lucky.

Also it's the second incident at this exact car place, according to the article someone drove their car down that hole 4 floors and luckily survived. Clearly this place needs better safety markings and equipment.

She's fortunate to have lived through that. It could have ended much differently.

They might start with a drop-down barrier like the ones they use on draw bridges.

Wow this is pretty crazy. I hope she's okay. Pay attention to where you're walking!
