Looks like they've blocked direct access to the video or something. Kind of interesting, does it load for you /u/d3rr? Could just be my crappy computer lol

Weird! It seems to work for the other people in the comments too. Which makes me think that reddit changed something? I wonder if they blocked saidit from accessing their video media server or something? Or if maybe just their server is having errors right now? Or they reconfigured how people connect to it? I guess we can wait a day or two and try posting another v.reddit link and see what happens

Very possible. Or they just see an ip that's not theirs requesting data so they blocked it. I guess this is technically hotlinking, and it does Reddit no good to let people view their videos on other sites.

Yeah that makes sense. They seemed to have worked very hard to disallow direct linking to the videos, I've never been able to figure out how to do it, it always just links back to the comment section associated with the post

    Good analysis. Link still works for me right now, maybe it needs 100+ hotlinked views to have that IP get blocked for that file or something

      Actually my guess is OP deleted the reddit post so the video is deleted too.

      Ahh that makes sense. I would think in that case the page itself would still be accessible though. Because we don't have a way to link to v.reddit videos directly, just the reddit posts that have the videos in them... and deleted posts are still accessible. I dunno. Definitely not a huge deal, just kind of strange
