Take some time out for yourself. Block and ignore. It’s what I do to preserve my sanity. I’ve been fighting people like that my whole life (most racism I’ve experienced came from white women) and this year it dawned on me that I didn’t have to. If anyone isn’t open to critical thought/self reflection about themselves and their place in the world, they’re not going to be open to having these sort of discussions anyway. I even hold myself to that standard. Shoot, the response I got to what I posted in the thread, showed me that it might not be a good idea to respond. It was like a “yeah all that sucks BUT...” response. Then they went off on another topic that I just don’t discuss with anyone except Black women due to personal experiences. Nah, I don’t feel like it.

As a Black woman, that whole thread was weird to read honestly. I felt like most were deliberately not trying to understand what you were trying to say. I caught that comment about who got the right to vote before women. Thanks for replying the way you did. It’s like they forget about the Jim Crow era. I can easily call up some older family members and listen to their stories of being denied the right to vote (or do anything freely) by white men AND white women.

I looked at your post history, and I think (of course I don't know) that what this sub is for, would be against what you believe. Most of what I said in my post, esp feminism is NOT egalitarianism, would piss a lot of men off. I honestly think it's fucked up, knowing that black women are socially and medically dismissed at higher rates than any other demographic, that black trans women and their experiences get to dominate, dictate, and speak for this oppressed group. Its even more shady considering that the black community has that "support our men, elevate our race" mentality. I mean, centering black tw is literally just an extension of that mentality which asks black women to keep their head down and their mouths shut in order to ensure that black men can assimilate into mainstream notions of success.
