First frost came through my part of Arkansas this week that damaged many garden plants. I picked this last batch of jalapeno peppers, cayenne peppers, and a small amount of okra. I thank the Lord for this harvest!

That is a leaf miner making those trails in the leaf, you have to physically remove each affected leaf away from the plant or they spread rapidly

First radish of 2023 picked from my garden ~ I chopped up the greens and the globe and fried it into my rice at lunch time. Frying seemed to tame the flavor and make it more mild. (I liked it!) One of the cats helped me eat some of the raw greens!

First Tomato Blossom of 2023 ~ This plant was grown from seed I saved last year. The parent plant was an Early Girl. This plant is the next generation and may have different characteristics from the parent plant. I'm curious how it will perform. So far, it is the *earliest* to blossom.

Corn damaged by hail failed to grow a full ear.... from my small garden in Arkansas, 3 weeks after the worst hail storm I have ever witnessed. Stalks fell down and leaves were shredded. Farmers also see hail damage. I expect food shortages soon (but trust the Lord to provide, as he always has).

Purple Plum Radish Blossoms ~ Matching the name, the blossoms are also of a purple color. I almost lost this radish variety. I had old seed, from over 10 years ago, and planted what I had. Several germinated and I am letting them grow and hope to save fresh seed from them.
