I understand your reason.
Raccoons can be trouble here, too. They have hands! In previous years squirrels also found my tomatoes, but not this year. One day I walked outside toward the garden and saw a squirrel high up on a tree branch holding one of my tomatoes, eating it! But lately we have had enough tomatoes. We have several now available to eat on the kitchen shelf. So we can afford to let the wildlife have some so I try to not let myself be angry. I wish you continued harvests!
