Holy fuck these people are crazy!
200 square feet of land to support a person? Even the largest estimate on the page, 2000 square feet, is nowhere near enough to support a single human.
To make it even more obvious they are insane, they assume it is healthy to not eat any meat at all. Everyone who has ever met a vegan knows that they are batshit insane, but not everyone knows that the vegan diet will turn a sane person into a lunatic. Usually this takes less than 6 months. You cannot get all the nutrition you need without eating meat.

I took that to be a practical consideration. In urban and suburban areas you can have a garden, but you can't generally own livestock. You can survive on a vegan diet if you have to, even though it's not great for you. A note on something like meat rabbits in the article might have been handy.
I thought that seemed low. Kinda sad most of us couldn't support ourselves independently foodwise if we had to, but nevertheless I think everyone should grow something useful.
I was recently experimenting with turning plant fibers into rope. There's a lot of stuff people take for granted. Like when getting a rope doesn't mean going to the store, but pounding plant stems into fiber, making twine, and braiding rope. A time intensive process and mine were pretty easy to break. Hemp would have worked better I'm sure. I was playing around with old basil stems. Sure smelled nice tho.

Depends if you can store the stuff you grow and how much variety you want.
