Amazing Picture! Awesome Fence!
Funny tho that it is an i.reddit link
I was pissed when reddit somehow took ownership of all of these images and videos with v.reddit and shit - no downloading, no source, just reddit, fuck them (sorry, rant, lol)

yeah v.reddit is especially irritating, I agree. I guess eventually we'll probably have our own media servers too, although I've been avoiding it as long as possible. We already do for the thumbnail/expando system, maybe someday we'll add full images and videos too

Perhaps you might consider sharing / collaborating / decentralizing that media resource?

WikiSpooks offers a full site backup to download, though they don't offer a bit or webtorrent of it which would be better. They would also do better if they provided a recent addition zip to add to all the other zips so that you wouldn't need to download all 5gb for a <100mb update. And then there's IPFS, etc.

After a decade away from webmastering, in the new year I will start my GlossedAndProfound.com to host/mirror my 3 projects - G&P, Bittersweet Seeds, Trutherism 101 - and maybe some Green Party stuff, most likely on MediaWiki. I would be happy to host or co-host SaidIt media there. I also hope to configure a home server as a mirror/backup - for emergencies only, slow until get fibre. Later I hope to expand it to include PeerTube, Mastodon, etc.

How/Why did Reddit claim ownership of media?

Printscreen, crop, upload. Bye reddit jerks! I also avoid the utube links. I used to be able to replace youtube with invidio. Now the links won't have the address bar where I can change it.
