Deleting comments isn't a good solution. Try a strike through for transparency's sake with "Edit: retracted".

The thing that annoys me the most is that I was thinking "eh, maybe this won't be well-received" and I didn't stop to think "why am I thinking that?". But I did do this twice after you called me out, so… progress? ☺

Maybe.

Stop before you type every single comment, and ask yourself, three times if necessary:

  1. if you've thought it out

  2. if you've even got it clear in your head

  3. how badly it might be received

  4. how concisely you can convey your comment

Keep this in your head. 3x4 Three Times Four 3x4 The magic dirty dozen. Drill it in. Make it a habit. Save yourself and others grief.
