Indeed - silly if we try not to think about it. But in this case Agent Smith - an AI program - is a trans male in the Matrix programmed to keep order within the system by terminating human simulacra that would bring instability to the simulated reality, as well as any rogue programs that no longer serve a purpose to the Machine collective? And as a non-human trans AI, he and fellow trans AIs are much more powerful than the human similacra, until of course 'the one' shows up. Hence the only reliable way to defeat the trans people that populate the entire Matrix is to depend on one human simulacra who is more capable as an AI than everyone in the Matrix. How would that compare with reality? Whoever made this video hasn't a clue about the Matrix or the irrelevance of the teeny tiny minority of easily avoidable trans people on the planet.

There are no trans people. There are just people that believe men can turn into lesbians because they were programmed to. These people are stuck in the Matrix. The agents represent these sorts of people.

If I remember correctly, Martix was written and directed by two trans people influenced by Buddhism. Neo is a kind of Buddha in the series. The Matrix is therefore full of normal people who don't think much and go about their lives almost like drones. The thinking, real, unusual people are in the real world, and Neo fights for them. Those unusual people are diverse.
