One of the electric co-ops in Montana tested an electric car in the middle of winter. At -20F, the car had something like a 25 mile range due to all the power needed to run the heater and heat the batteries.

The co-op concluded: “An electric vehicle is, at best, a three season vehicle in Montana.”

Perhaps, if we burn more gasoline and warm up the planet some more, electric cars will work in the winter….😉

I'm not buying an electric any time soon. Maybe if I had a house with solar and could charge it off grid I would consider it. But for longer road trips electric sucks right now. The battery tech will keep getting better and once you can get a battery to 80% within 15 minutes reliably then people will adopt electric.
