From the table give, the number of people in the Wehrmacht in 1942 was 5.8 million + 1.7 million + 580K + 230K which using my completely non-Jewish maths adds up to 8.31 million. When I went to school 8.31 million is more than 8 million, but maybe numbers are different for nazi cucks.

In the 1939 census, there were about 214,000 religious Jews in Germany. Surveys done by the Gestapo-affiliated Reichsvereinigung der Juden in Deutschland found that there were still 168,972 Jews in Germany on May 1st 1941, just before official deportations began. So "around 200,000" is more or less accurate.

There is credible eye-witness evidence that Karl-Otto and Ilse Koch had at least one lampshade made of human skin, but not sufficient to prove it beyond reasonable doubt. If the lightshade did exist, it was lost or destroyed before the end of the war. There was certainly no widespread or systematic manufacture of lampshades by the Nazis. If the Koch's did have one made, it was merely an idiosyncratic perversion of their own, it wasn't Nazi policy.

I dare say Himmler would have been furious if he had known about it. He was angered by mere rumours of soap being made from Jews, and ordered Heinrich Müller, the head of the Gestapo, to ensure that all the bodies would be burned or buried and not used for other purposes.

The truth is, you know that the Jews aren't that powerful now, and they certainly weren't that powerful in 1945. They couldn't have faked something of the scale of the Holocaust even if they wanted to. In the fog of war, historians have done a good job of investigating the crimes of the Nazis and proving them beyond reasonable doubt.

And they are capable of revising their conclusions.

Exaggerated claims from survivors about "lampshades made with human skin" have been treated skeptically by historians. The most sensational and macabre claims have been rejected unless there is excellent evidence for them, e.g. claims that camp guards threw living prisoners into the crematoriums is generally considered to be a myth. (It might have happened once or twice as particularly awful punishment, but not proven, and certainly it didn't happen on a large scale.)

As you well know, the Nazis went to a lot of trouble to hide the existence of the extermination camps and destroy the evidence of mass murder. And they did a very good job of it. Germany efficiency.

But not perfect. Some physical evidence survived, enough to confirm the eye-witness accounts, the confessions, the documentary evidence and the indirect evidence. A handful of examples of hard physical evidence:

  • The land around Treblinka has many large burial pits. The soil contains recognisable fragments of human bone in such large quantities that they can only have come from a mass murder site, and the amount of ash is great enough to have changed the chemistry of the soil.
  • The brick foundations of the gas chambers have been found, confirming eyewitness accounts of the Star Of David design on the tiles.
  • In Auschwitz, where the gas chambers survived, there is detectable cyanide residue on the walls. The extermination chambers and the delousing chambers show distinctly different residues, matching what we expect from chemistry and eye witness testimony.
  • Thousands of pounds of human hair cut off the victims, some of it taken after gassing and showing traces of cyanide and Zyklon-B.
  • In Dachau, five gas chambers were constructed. Four where quite clearly meant for disinfection purposes. The fifth, however, was clearly constructed as an extermination chamber, complete with fake shower heads. Historians are divided on whether the fifth chamber had been used, the evidence is inconclusive. The case for gassings in Dachau itself is "Not Proven". But its mere existence proves that the Nazis had custom-built gas chambers for the express purpose of homicide.
  • The are traces of cyanide found in Hartheim Castle in Linz, where three thousand prisoners were sent and executed. Prussic acid has been found on metal objects taken from the victims.

Add to this physical evidence thousands of documents written by the Nazis, the eyewitness accounts of survivors (both Jews and non-Jews), the confessions of camp guards, SS and Einsatzgruppen, blueprints and requisition orders, train timetables and photographs, and the case is proven beyond reasonable doubt.

One piece of evidence which I find especially powerful is the five-hundred-and-sixty-four-page book called “Auschwitz: Technique and Operation of the Gas Chambers” by Jean-Claude Pressac. Pressac began his investigation into the gas chambers convinced that they were a fraud, but after eight years of painstaking, detailed study of the source materials, changed his mind. Among the evidence he found was the presence of 20 shower-heads in the inventory for Birkenau's Crematorium II, but no water pipes leading to the shower-heads.

Why the fuck did the Nazis care about the Jews in the first place? They were a tiny minority with no real political power to speak of, and only a little cultural influence.

The Holocaust didn't spring into existence instantly the moment Hitler gained power, it was a nine year process of escalation:

  • mostly non-lethal attacks, beatings and destruction of property;
  • forced evictions of Jews with Polish passports to refugee camps outside of Germany;
  • involuntary euthanasia of the sick and disabled;
  • ad hoc individual killings and executions;
  • expulsion of people in the occupied territories from their homes to concentration camps and ghettos;
  • ad hoc massacres and pogroms in the ghettos and occupied territories;
  • policy of treating all Jews in the Soviet Union as military combatants to be shot on sight;
  • mobile killing squads;
  • extermination camps designed for industrial-scale murder.

Then, when the Nazis realised that they might lose the war, they shut down the extermination camps and tried to hide the evidence. But they kept the work camps going because by this time Nazi Germany was reliant on slave labour for much of its war production, and the other concentration camps because they weren't going to just release the prisoners to go home.

Even German efficiency can only kill so many people in a day. The rate at which people could be killed depended on the capacity of German police, army and local collaborators to round up people, the capacity of the railways to transport them across Europe to the killing centres, the speed at which they could be killed and the bodies disposed of.

Nazi policy on the Jews and Roma (gypsies) evolved gradually in fits and starts from 1933, when it began as a mere policy of violent discrimination and theft aimed at forcing them to "voluntarily" migrate out of Europe, to 1942 when the Nazi leadership agreed on an outright extermination program of all Jews in Europe. A lot can happen in nine years.

Pre-war, the Jews, Gypsies, political enemies and other "undesirables" where moved into concentration camps and labour camps. At this point there was not yet a decision made to exterminate them, but that doesn't mean that the Nazis were kind and loving guardians. They were worked hard on minimum rations, with cruel treatment, prisoners were often beaten to death, hanged or shot for minor infractions of camp rules. In general the concentration camps took a malign disinterest in the health of the prisoners, allowing them to die of overwork, malnutrition and disease.

This only got worse and more extreme as the war went on, when the prisoners in many camps were intentionally worked to death on starvation rations.

Early in the war, the Nazis began by moving Polish jews into temporary ghettos, until they decided what to do with them. When Germany invaded the USSR, Himmler ordered the army command to treat all Jews in the Soviet Union as partisans, regardless of their age or sex, which effectively gave the army carte blanche to shoot them on the spot. (German plans were to eventually depopulate all of Russia up to the Ural mountains by starvation, but the Jews were especially singled out.) They experimented with mobile shooting squads, but this was hard on the soldiers and not as effective or fast as the Nazis wanted.

In other parts of Eastern Europe, such as Lithuania, Belarussia (Belarus) and especially Poland, German forces and local collaborators massacred Jews by hand. E.g. the the German Reserve Police Battalion 309 massacred hundreds of Jewish men by locking them in a synagogue and setting the building on fire, then rampaged across the ghetto killing as many people as they could. Clearly this was not going to scale, and it wouldn't work at all in western Europe where the Jews where not concentrated in ghettos.

Up to this time, there were many different agencies dealing with "the Jewish problem", and they didn't agree on policy or implementation. For example, there was the Interior Ministry, the Foreign Ministry, the Justice Ministry, various Ministers for Eastern Territories, the Army, the SS and more. Only in 1942 did Reinhard Heydrich manage to assert complete authority over "the Jewish problem", at least on paper, and begin an outright extermination campaign across all of German occupied Europe. This was when the first extermination camps were built.
