Well it's clearly one of those made up anecdotes.

Otherwise it's about right. People don't like the social implications of these exercises and they want to turn them into emotional support hug circles where we say everyone gives equal value to society and what not.

But if we're going with the scifi repopulate humanity angle then clearly women are worth more than men since women are the population bottleneck. 1 man and 6 women is a far more healthy society than 1 woman and six men.

I did my choices on the form before reading the article and my picks and rationale weren't too far off from the troublemaker's.

  1. Will experience withdraw symptoms and likely not be of much use. He still gets to go solely because there are 4 worse picks.
  2. Medicine skills are useful, he/she goes.
  3. Already subfertile, but should still be able to have babies for 12 more years. She goes.
  4. 2 for 1. She goes.
  5. Unhealthy and less likely to survive. He/she stays.
  6. Young and fertile. She goes.
  7. Not useful for breeding due to vote of celibacy, would likely bicker with the faggot as well. He stays.
  8. If she's both a successful actress and a target for sexual assault, then presumably she is an attractive and fertile woman with good genes. She goes.
  9. Would get into bickering fights with the medic. He/she stays.
  10. Not useful for breeding, but is at least healthy. He goes.
  11. Young and could have a long productive and fertile life. He goes.
  12. Old, infertile and unlikely to survive for long. He/she stays.

If you were on that list, I would vote to throw you off the plane while it was 33,000 feet in the air. And you can forget about a parachute. Happy landing, breeder!

There's a 2015 movie with a similar premise called Circle.

(Not the Tom Hanks one.)
