Economic withdrawal primarily: pull current investments, minimize income, and eliminate new investments. I call it "Going Galt-lite", and I did it a version of it during the last half of Bush and all of all Obama. I suspect given the crash and slow recovery, it was not an uncommon strategy, but I have no direct data to back that up. Of course, making choices based on ethics are their own reward.
