Schrödinger's communism. It's like the feminists and anything tangible that has something negative about it becomes automatically "not real feminism/communism". However, even the same things to the same people claiming that is no problem when they see something virtuous about it and use it as an example of why communism is so great.

You'll never see any "real communism" in action, because the idea is broken especially enforcing any of it without authoritarianism or killing most of the people (because very few would voluntarily enter communism) and without some form of non-communist economy, because the idea of the communist economy is fully broken and just leads to suffering and corruption, out of which the corruption part also needs authoritarianism, but simultaneously only makes the corruption worse.

It's not due to lack of trying there's no "real communism" implemented anywhere, it's just that the inevitable course of action is either dissolving it or getting into authoritarian totalitarism to enforce it, along with cleansing of people who don't want to adapt to it and terrorizing the rest into submission.
