I might have 'heard' the upcoming news on the radio: In The Netherlands there was a study by civilian/government group about facial recognition being easily decrypted by using a photo of the user. But at the end of the news report about that item they said: The new iphone (not mentioning WHICH, like is that the 1000 one or the shittier one? what?) and the new Samsung (again WHICH!?) were 'safe'.

I'll tell you NO! we have 3d scanning techniques I used in projects over 5 years ago and now they are hand held, I swipe a (lookd like one) Iron (for flattening clothes) by your face/head and BOOM I have a 3d image including color of your head (unless you have a very large {lengthy in height} head).

This 3d and photo information is enough to unlock phone and high end laptops (which feature better software/hardware).

If you have sensitive information on your phone, Use a PIN and consider local encryption of files before facials!
