All dental fillings for cavities were, for generations, amalgam, which means a mix of mercury and one or more other metals. Fill the tooth with that, you're "good". Except it gradually poisons people over time. The practice was so widespread that "aging" and mercury poisoning became ONE THING. People think it's normal to break down as you grow older. It is not, but it's normal to break down as you get more and more poisoned.

Anyway, at some point one of my teeth with an amalgam filling breaks and I swallowed bothe the chunk of filling and of tooth. I readily understood that having amalgam in my stomach acid was a guaranteed amount of poisoning. You must understand I have always been a health freak, taking care of myself better than about 99.999% of people, even in my 20s.

Anyway, at the time I had money to spare, so I asked a dentist to take them all out and replace them with the newer composites which are much less toxic. The dentist obliged, omitting to inform me that it would poison me nearly to death because to remove them safely you need a SPECIALIZED dentist, and he was no such a one.

If I could sue I certainly would, but it's been over 20 years now, I have no idea how to find the guy.
