You have a very large debt. Some questions for you to consider.... Why would you want to marry? What's your desire in being married? Are you hoping for financial help from your partner? Is there any love in this relationship? If there were pure love involved here, why would debt keep your partner from marrying you?

Your debt could be an excellent test of your partner's love for you.

Some great decision making there. Massive debt she's never likely to pay, two children out of wedlock, and no steady income to show for the two degrees. The guy doesn't seem to smart either for getting her pregnant twice.

It's even worse, I don't think he's the father of both kids, the article said "I have one kid and another on the way," and not "we have."

That seems more than likely. These people are terrible. See this story: https://www.marketwatch.com/picks/my-husband-refuses-to-pay-my-student-loans-his-reason-i-took-out-the-loans-before-we-were-together-is-there-some-loophole-to-get-him-to-pay-01643839946?mod=mw_more_headlines

No mention of being a mother - just long-term unemployed. She's attempting to find a 'loophole' that'd force her husband to pay her student loans.

Effectively what we have here are two entitled women with something equivalent to gambling debts, desperately seeking anybody but themselves to pay the bill.

Is a person with 2 Masters' degrees smarter than a person who decides against getting into over a third of a million dollars worth of debt?

I don't think so. Intelligence isn't increased by learning at all. A dumb person doesn't get smarter with a degree.

But... but what about all those smart ladies lecturing us with their postdoctoral Gender Studies degrees???

Thank god for that, unless he does something dumb like refinance her debt, but the liability isn't the only consideration. She has significant debt that will be over her head for 20-25 years that would impact her ability to contribute to marital finances, if she ever actually gets a job.

She's 35, at the end of her child rearing days, with two kids, I'm thinking from two different dads, crushing debt, and apparently useless degrees. Her dance card is probably pretty empty.

There's no real upside to this guy marrying her.

Since the degrees aren’t mentioned in the article, it is safe to assume they are worthless Liberal Arts degrees that would land jobs that pay maybe $50,000 per year. Oh, that doesn’t make sense? Think of it this way, you work as an administrative assistant with a salary of $50K and you want to purchase a Lamborghini Gallardo for $380K. Anything wrong with this scenario?

From the article: "I have one kid and another on the way." That considerably complicates things!

Post 30 wall, single with 2 kids, $380K debt. Fuck that shit. Piss poor prior planning on her part.
