Would this be a bad time for me to start investing in the stock market? Thinking about long term, low risk, ETFs in a TFSA

Any additional personal finance advice would be cool too.

I think it probably will go lower before it starts going up in a sensible way again.
The answer is to not put a big lump sum in at once. Put in a small part of your money in every month over the next couple of years and then at least some of your investment will go in at the bottom of the market.

That's kinda the investment strategy I had in mind anyway.
ETFs a good direction?

They are but I think it's worth putting a few hundred on companies you like and have research so you can get a feel of how the markets work. Diversifying is always a good thing.
Many investment firms are putting money in property at the moment but I think with inflation going up interest rates are likely to follow so we may get a crash driven by defaulting similar to 2008. It's all a risk. Especially while the effects of covid haven't been allowed to hit the market values yet.

One can diversify with ETFs. I just have VT which is enough. There is no point buying individual stocks unless you are committed to becoming a professional investor.
