How do they know the trash comes from North America? I've been to Cambodia many times and visited various places along the coast but did not see much waste at all.

Those pics are mind-boggling.

People who live in the countryside in Cambodia are so poor, (subsistence farming) they hardly throw away anything. Glass Coke and Pepsi bottles are a standard unit used by roadside merchants to sell gas for all the motorbikes.

BTW, certainly, it is a fact that North America produces a great deal of trash that ends up in the environment. I was only wondering if the Cambodian pollution was from the US and Canada.
