The chinks built dams so big it effects the moons orbit.

Is that true about the dams affecting the moon's orbit? Because I wouldn't doubt it.

I forget the specifics but it was something along the lines how moon affects ocean tides. Because they put such a massive body water were there wasn't one before it slowed earths rotation by a tiny amount.

Yeah, I've heard that straits cause the earth's rotation to slow down a tiny bit. [BTW, I saw a video about the dam and it mentioned the fact that it causes the Earth's rotation to slow ever so slightly. The vid was <simon winchester three gourges dam>]
