There are a lot of new German users today, and I am trying to understand why? Thank you.

There was a German sub on reddit called r/edefreiheit which was dedicated to freedom of speech since other Germans subs like r/de are heavily censored. Everybody who has a popular opinion which does not go according to the official narrative gets banned there in all those Subrreddits. Now this last sub with true freedom of speech got banned as well for absolutely dubious fake reasons.

So we were looking for a new home. We tried "voat.co" but the awful design, the stupid "points" system and pollution with anti-semitism scared most people away.

So here we are.
