I think we're all ultimately alone in this world; we definitely take that 'final voyage' alone. In having said that, I personally think a lot of people's anxiety comes from not realizing we're all on a voyage through time, age, and decay; then it's almost impossible for many to really grip the idea that they'll die.

The concepts taught through stoicism are a great way to control anxiety in this life.

I agree. I think while many now a days might not notice it without large amounts of self reflection, growing up with a family probably allows our social psych to fully develop and reach fully understand the full range of familiel bonds which overall allows us to make better bonds with others as we age.
