This is the dumbest tangent that conservatism ever went down honestly. Yes drugs can be detrimental when used in excess, but it's an IQ filter more than anything else. Arbitrary drug laws has prevented so many advances that could've propelled our bodies and minds further.

I've never seen a good neighborhood that also allowed uncontrolled drugs. It's the opposite. All of Latin America is basically a warzone because of drugs. I don't blame Japan for not wanting to join them....

Gay/trans propaganda is still promoted in the media quite a bit and there's little stigma these days.

That's just nitpicking. Find another 1st world country or economic powerhouse that also bans Gay marriage?

They're legal for socioeconomic reasons, rape, and endangerment of health which pretty much makes them legal. I actually wish abortion laws worked like that in the US tbh.

See above.

The H1B type influx is coming, more and more foreigners are being hired for technology jobs. One of my cousins actually got scouted for a major Japanese firm but her parents didn't allow her to take it.

Funny you say this. I still check out Japanese job postings from time to time, and one thing I see is they ask for a personal photograph to go with your resume. But when you actually go check up the ethnic makeup of these companies, it's still native Japanese people.

They're not dumb. They absolutely will discriminate against foreigners without having to worry about any affirmative action laws to stop them like in the West.

Edit: And even the foreigners they do bring in to these companies they will NEVER rise up in management. Japanese Boomers are already hard to replace as it is.

I'd say it's more like the 90s, still comfy but the downtrend is already set in stone.

The 90s already had severe demographic change. New York City for example was 43% White, thus making them a minority in their own country.

In comparison, Japan's biggest city Tokyo is still 96% Japanese or 4% foreign population.

Edit: It's also important to observe the "foreigners" in Tokyo are still other Asians like Chinese or Koreans. We know from basic science that these people are genetically similar to the Japanese and don't pose an existential threat vs say... if they were all Africans who moved in and began to race mix. New York City is far more of a melting pot of Blacks, Hispanics, Asians etc all being blended together and pushing out the White people who first lived there.
