When/how did Europeans convince themselves that the muslim world gave up their historical obsession with muslim forceful/violent expansion of the religion?

The more interesting question is: who's opening the gates? Muslims would not be in Europe if not for the inviters.

This. Islam hasn't been a threat to Europe since at least the days of Napoleon. Napoleon's arrival and victory in Egypt was so humiliating to the Muslim world -- and the Arab world in particular -- that they never really recovered from it. The Muslims didn't even have a printing press for goodness sake. It was introduced to them by Napoleon. The Muslim world today is only a "threat" because of Jewish bio-Leninism. Even their bloated population is there because our leaders keep feeding them with our grain. If we cut that off MENA countries would suffer from mass starvation on a Biblical scale. We could end this "threat" any day. We just need to overthrow the Jews and their liberal golem. After that we could easily retake Constantinople and crush Islam once and for all.
