Britain used to have a pretty strong nationalist movement, even winning elections(British National Party). Yet today they don't even have a relevant moderate nationalist party like most other European countries. I don't know what happened.

It happened the UKIP

It was never nationalist. It was a Nigel Farage led party to exit the EU.

I think he means UKIP happened to destroy nationalism

Brexit lulled Brits into a false sense of victory and this was made worse by the Tory victories aftewards. Theresa May and Boris Johnson have been worse than Tony Blair imo.

Exactly
