"Socialism" - when the people are torn from their land and are all turned into worker bees for jewish oligarchs who have overthrown an aristocratic, agrarian regime to create a "Communist" one. Qualitatively identical to capitalism in terms of the workers still being alienated, still enslaved to jewish oligarchs etc.

Social Democracy - when jewish oligarch capitalists who had already overthrown agrarian aristocrats in the previous centuries realise if they don't add in a few pressure release valves there will be a real socialist revolution

Socialism - when the masses organise in a fascist manner to implement a pro-work, anti-parasite economy that is based around the peoples-community

Refer to this quick and easy guide

In many ways, they are right that socdems aren't socialists in a socialist manner. Socdems like regulated capitalism and thats not socialism.

But I actually don't care for leftists. They don't actually want socialism. The moment you start questioning diversity, they turn on you.

Diversity comes first. Socialism is merely a word or concept used to push diversity.

I will never forgive Stalin and co for getting people to associate socialism and authoritarianism

The only reason Stalin is presented as a ruthless dictator is because of The Great Purge really, Bolsheviks reigning free in the 20s was INFINITELY more ruthless and bloodier than what Stalin did.

What is the "true" socialism this sort wants?

To those types socialism is just a transitional phase towards communism, the only purpose of the the state (or "Dictatorship of the Proletariat", as they call it) is to educate the people on how things will be done under the new system, and after that is done, the state/DOTP is supposed to "wither away". (as if that's ever the case lol)

Overall, you're better off ignoring these subreddits, these people know nothing about what they believe in, they're just dumb ironybros who use Soviet aesthetic (which, to be honest, you have to be very autistic to like).

As for the difference between social democrats and "socialists", none really, "socialists" are just more ready to use street violence but it's the same shit ideologically.

There is no difference. Communists used to call the system they wanted social democracy. Communism advocated for democratic worker control of the state. Once communism is achieved the state would no longer exist and an anarchist communist global society would be formed. However since that idea is retarded it ends up being a dictatorship of a party. Lenin advocated for a vanguard for the early stages of socialism but it wasn't supposed to be a totalitarian one party system.

Democratic socialism is usually in reference to less radical parties who work within the parliamentary system and don't seek to abolish capitalism but reform it.

Many communists today support the authoritarian socialist system(referred to as Marxist-Leninism) because they've grown up in a world where that is synonymous with communism but it really just highlights the failures in the application of Marx's ideas.

Here's how I understand socialism.

In the 18th and 19th century we had the industrial revolution. The Monarchs and elite banking families had competition from an explosion of wealthy individuals and even worse from their power centric perspective: a more comfortable and educated populace. The populace had more disposable wealth that could be used for political participation. Additionally, The world shrank in two big ways: media and travel. People could learn about the rest of the world easier and move around it. As that happened all types of elites, old money and new, had to figure out a way to keep the western populace tightly controlled.

At the same time socialism was developing. Socialism is the idea that the commodification of the earth through individual ownership rights is destructive to everyone but especially the lower class peoples. Socialist wanted a third party, often a government, to step into the growing international capitalists system with force. They wanted armed governments to take wealth from individual capitalists and spread it around. Different types of socialists all had different approaches to this distribution but they all agreed on taking the wealth from the elites. The core of socialism is that no individual person or family should own too much and anyone that has too much probably stole it and needs it stolen back.

All the different variations of socialism that emerged is where the confusion lies.
