Given that CalExit and that Cascadia thing in the north-west are both essentially 'progressive' causes, I think a case could be made that some 'progressives' see secessionism as a way to create their ideal society—a CHAZ/CHOP experiment writ large. They seem to be the most vocal secessionists as far as I've seen. Secession in Red states doesn't have the same energy: they have the classic CivNat, pro-Union patriotism to a greater degree than do Democrats.

Statistically, Republicans are still more likely to support secession of Red states from the Union, but I'm hoping that both sides can agree that the best way to move forward is simply to allow heavily 'progressive' and nonwhite areas to leave rather than persist with the kind of centralism that I imagine someone like Trump ardently supporting to 'save the Union' in the hope of going down in history as a second Abe Lincoln. I don't see the point in that. Sure, the military would kill plenty of Antifa and other morons, but the overwhelming majority would survive and still be voting.

I think that Left-wing secessionism can safely operate under Democratic administrations, and so I hope that these losers can stop spraypainting 'Cascadia' on walls and actually start doing something to get places like Washington out of the Union.

And, yes, you can see that the nonwhites are clearly at odds with the baizuo on secessionism. For blacks and Hispanics like those you linked, secessionism is about improving the position of their group (increasing black power, increasing Hispanic power). For White progs it doesn't seem to relate to race: the view is that the Union is 'conservative' or 'reactionary' and that the seceded areas would be more 'progressive' outside of it. For the former it seems like a mere power grab, claiming the White settler nation's territory for their own race; for the latter it's fuelled by their own horrid conceptions of utopianism. 'Secede and we'll progress to Fully Automated Gay Space Luxury Communism!'

You've linked that awful website before. Is that a Left-wing gamer site? For the gamers that are really just gaymerfags: those who complain about the lack of 'diversity' in video games and so on? They seem practically braindead.

Red states refuse to certify a Democrat president and give the electoral college to Trump or electoral boards just decide Trump as the winner.

There's no reason to believe this will happen, and it didn't happen in 2020. Even the current 'coup' conspiracy theory regarding the Electoral College is essentially that Mike Pence was supposed to have had the power to annul the election result, and that he didn't. However, the loophole is simply the consequence of an ambiguity somewhere in the documents, which the Democrats are pushing hard to remove.

Its the extreme cowards way out to say that you are okay with the tens of millions of people who live in Texas, Florida, Georgia, Alabama, ect. being sacrificed to the fascists.

'Fascists'.

The black kids in the new conservative state (presumably because their parents were black Republicans) now living in a country which very quickly would have little reason to even pretend they're against racism?

Yeah, yeah. Republicans are 'racists'. Also, the racist fascists run everything and we oppressed people run nothing but for some weird reason it's they who have to pretend that they aren't something that they are and not us. Yeah, right.

Now we have people like Tucker Carlson spouting neo-Nazi talking points like "replacement theory," which is getting people killed (the Buffalo massacre).

Except that White minoritization isn't a conspiracy theory.

Then there's all the moral panics involving children they've been perpetrating. All of their "groomer" rhetoric is going to get people killed before too long.

Even if the influence of groomers was overestimated by the 'Right', the fact that these morons routinely argue that there should not be harsher laws against groomers simply reveals where their sympathies lie. If they were actually against groomers, then just why do they have so much trouble actually supporting these laws? Who cares if the laws are 'unnecessary' or the 'consequence of moral panics'? There are all sorts of laws on the books for things that barely ever happen as it is, and yet their argument against anti-groomer laws is grounded on as little as the idea that grooming barely ever happens? That's it? That's the only justification for being a piece of shit whose real reason for opposing these laws is the view that pedophiles are just another sexual minority in need of liberation like every other?

I’m so sick of some of y’all thinking there are safe spaces for blacks folks in blue state liberal bubbles. It’s fucking offensive and annoying…This country hates us from every Fucking corner, so stop the bullshit.

Look at this dumb groid. America 'hates' his kind in the year 2022? Bahahaha....

I've love to know how many of the Yes voters have any knowledge or experience in civic engineering, electrical engineering, local municipal governance, etc etc

Cause I'd bet ya'll don't have any

The only reasonably sane quote I can see. But hopefully the insane ones get their way on this issue and California and the Cascadian states find a way to leave the Union.

I find it interesting to read what the other side thinks once in a while. Especially as the same people who post on that site come from wealthy/influential backgrounds, like this thread demonstrates:

Not to mention, the same Liberals posting in the Secession thread are also surprised the numbers are so close, as opposed to outright opposing dissolution. So it's undeniable a paradigm shift is occurring in front of our faces.

The fact that it is 40/60 right now is absurd. Should be 5/95 at best. Do people really think that splitting the country into multiple countries is a good idea? Jesus, please go outside.
