is there anything that puts intermittent fasting above something like ADF or keto?

Most people find ADF and keto harder than intermittent fasting. Intermittent fasting is like a gateway drug to keto, carivore, adf and long term fasting. In other words if you struggle with eating in smaller windows of the day you will probably fail with longer term fasting like one meal a day.

The most important rule of thumb when you're getting into all these techniques is to pick strategies that you can actually make stick. Then after you've mastered simpler strategies you can move to the more advanced ones to accelerate your progress. It's all about not going over the line. Eating habits are very hard wired into our routines and it's easy to try too much too fast and then throw up your hands when it doesn't work right.
