On March 3, 1991, a plumber named George Holliday recorded four white LAPD officers using batons, tasers, feet and fists to beat a Black man later identified as King. The videotape of officers repeatedly hitting King as he writhed on the ground shocked the world. Then-LAPD Chief Daryl Gates resigned and a commission headed by future U.S. Secretary of State Warren Christopher was formed to oversee a major overhaul of tactics and policies within the LAPD, which was accused of fostering a culture of institutional racism and excessive force.

And this right here is what began decades of hoaxes being spread around.

Did any officer ever come forward and say they beat him BECAUSE he was Black? Did they ever say they wouldn't beat a White person in the same situation?

Yet immediately, the media jumped and said it was a race thing.

Just like George Floyd. He was arrested and Derek Chauvin put his knee on him. But no where in that 9 minute video did Chauvin said he only kneels on Black people.
