The counterpoint is that the parents of boomers should have known that the television was a bad influence on children. The groups that should have saw all bullshit a mile away was the greatest generation and the silent generation. The boomers were literally born in the era of televisions in every home and don't talk about politics at the dinner table. The television is way worse than the internet and the smartphone because you can't talk back to the television. Also, lets not forget how much time it takes for a generation to start grasping at political power in a liberal democracy.

Most people are in their late 20s before they start making headway in their political career. Imagine being born during the civil rights act era and having to sit on that for a decade or two before actually given a chance to change things. When your young it is easier to be a radical, but as you get older you are focused on your family and don't have much leisure time. Also, add in extended adolescence introduced to the boomer generation and you have a recipe for political disaster for future generations were it is expected for you to be "finding yourself" in your early 20s and getting married in your mid to late twenties. By the time you access political power, you won't want to rock the boat because of the risks involved. Also millennials were never given the opportunity to hold power because they already are a minority thanks to the immigration policies.
