type 055 destroyers

The hull has a modern design, made for increased radar stealth. The US Areligh Burke destroyers have phenomenal electronics and sensors but their hull is just too old.

The SPY-1 radar on the Burke is a weak point until it gets upgraded to the SPY-6 AESA. The flight III ships will have the new radar, and supposedly they are planning to back fit the IIA ships.
