communities.win/c/DebateAltRight is now established

With help from /u/ifuckredditsnitches_ we've set up a backup site on communities.win. Feel free to check it out and make some test posts. I modified rule 4 a bit to allow some meme and link posting. Please do not abuse that. The new site is a good opportunity for reposting old content you like (from saidit or reddit) or sharing out quality redpills that have near universal community agreement.

The communities.win site will only serve as a backup for now. If people like it and we have less censorship over there we will make it the main site and saidit the sister site. For now if you have effort posts make sure they are posted here and not soley on communities.win (or you can double post). When you double post please link both sites in your submission to help users learn about both sites. I have not confirmed this with every mod on DAR yet so this is still pending full mod approval.

Please help us with feedback on what you think about communities.win. Is it a viable new home for DAR? Thanks again to everyone for keep this site and this idea alive. This is impossible without the amazing contributors we have here. DAR will also be looking into new mods as we will likely need help if the new site brings rapid growth. If you are interested in moderating or know someone who may be interested please post below or nominate someone else for consideration. Please provide some backround on why you or they should be considered.

    Personally I've been burned out in this place. Not because of anyone in DAR but between the site outages, the TAM fiasco last year, the back and forth with magnora7, and the front page being filled with contemptible boomers and shitty content. We are a debate sub and we are stagnant here. I think the crusade should continue on .win, but I understand not wanting to abandon an already established platform.

    I'm not terribly keen on airing old laundry, but when TAM power tripped, he banned u/JasonCarswell for his ongoing crusade against socks. JC happened to be one of the few saiditters I liked. There was a thread about it, and everyone who voiced their opinion against TAM was blocked from posting anywhere site-wide. I don't remember how many DAR members were in the thread, but I know u/Dragonerne also felt the wrath of the teenaged tranny. I guess after TAM took his meds he scrubbed everything and disappeared.

    As for magnora7, I can't say he has inspired much confidence in me. The site outages point me to incompetence, but this s/all stuff points me to maliciousness. I'd much prefer site admins that don't get involved with the affairs of their users or manipulate the communities to obtain a more profitable and "sanitized" site. It's clear that's the end goal, so long term I don't think we can stay here.

    Thanks for the fine breakdown. Worth noting is a week later /u/d3rr took over from TAM and was the best admin (and restored DAR to the front page) until M7 showed back up.

    The fellow formerly known as d3rr and I may eventually make a couple Lemmy sites. One for "elevated discourse" and "Uncensored Science" that is "controlled", and the other for "free speech" and "Uncensored Politics" that is unbridled with all the problems that may arise there.

    I mention this because whether it's DAR or us or whoever, and the resources can be mustered, it might be nice to dev a crossposting browser addon. It would be nice to draft a post or comment that would be mirrored/shared on SaidIt, .win, Lemmy, and maybe other Reddit-like forums or social media.

    IMO decentralizing is critical - and so is bridging.

    Fuck socks.
    May he leave SaidIt forever on good or bad terms - or better: simply quit the bullshit.

    I'd prefer to keep a finger on the pulse of the general community, for better or for worse. As I've been saying about DAR, we are meant to be a debate sub, so seeing what gets the most attention and discussion is important to me. And, maybe more importantly, the front page of this site being a bunch of retarded boomer memes doesn't really encourage disillusioned redditers to come here. I don't really know what can be done about it, I just know I'm far from the first person that has an issue with this. I want to continue to have faith in saidit, but it looks to me like the community is more or less stagnant, and it's made worse when boomer tard posts find their way to s/all and our sub has to fight for the same privilege. I'm aware I can personally make my experience better on saidit by ignoring parts of the site, but that doesn't really help me or anyone else who is annoyed with the situation.

    I like Saidit, never had a problem. I warned others of Voat, that goat f-er place, also that recent place which just shut down for antisemitism, idk, I'm suspicious of .win.

    Might be a good idea to create a DAR type 'board' on https://arete.network as another backup of sorts.

    It seems that anyone can create a board with a new account, so I'd suggest just making it before someone steals the name. I haven't had a good look at this site's functionality, but people on .win are also starting to build their communities there.

    Thus I can see 'ConsumeProduct' as the top board with 158 users. 'NationalSocialism' in second place with 71 users. Like they say, the early bird gets the worm, and it looks rather Saidit and .win like to me.

    Can we at least set up a private invite only chat/email/etc. way to continue our own conversations from which we can strategize future activities? Something no one can ever censor.
