Lmao came across one of those “chill kpop coffee shop playlist” videos in my YT feed, gave it a go, honestly not that bad.

It ain’t all cringe BTS shit. But I am a former weeb that used to listen to anime jpop, so maybe I am conditioned now.

Most women only marry up. It's time for women to consider the alternative of marrying down.
Otherwise, an anti-feminist leader like this one may be elected.

Yeah, women should pick useless men to be the fathers of their children and breed a whole generation of losers. Great idea.

S. Korean women are notoriously materialistic and calculating. E.g. using sugar daddies to pay for university tuition.

Hypergamy is a problem in all first-world countries, but Asian men suffer the most.

Marrying down doesn't imply that women are marrying rock-bottom, useless men so as to create a whole generation of losers... For example, my Mom married down, and I'm a winner.

The vast majority of women won’t marry down. A lot of them say they would, but deep down they don’t want to. And a lot of the ones who do don’t respect their husbands.

Sure, there are working mums married to stay at home dads, and they are satisfied with the arrangement. But in those situations, the mother runs a small business, or is inheriting a small business from her family. She is passionate about the business, so her husband staying at home is a compromise. Or the father cannot work due to workplace injury, declining health, or getting let go from work. In this scenario, him staying at home was not intended. His wife works and she doesn’t blame him because she understands it’s not his fault, but he was working when they got married. The stay-at-home dad arrangement is, in nearly all cases, a backup plan if other plans fail.

[–]suzew 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

very true that stay at home dads are almost always back up plans

[–]RedEyedWarrior 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

And a lot of stay at home dads who can physically work take courses at night or during the day while their children are in school. They don’t want to be stay at home dads forever.

Korean women will only marry down if their potential husband is white.

It's time for women to consider the alternative of marrying down.

Never gonna happen. It goes against the very essence of female nature. Hypergamy is hardwired into their brains. At worst, women will only marry men who are equal to them. They never marry men who are inferior to them, even in strict patriarchal societys. Women feel an instinctive disgust for low value men; its their genes warning them not to procreate with that man. (Similiarly, men feel instinctive disgust for promiscuous women; its their genes warning them not to invest in that woman)

In pre-modern societys, most people were subsistence farmers who lived in a state of scarcity, and monogamy was religiously enforced. Women obviously didn't have anywhere near the level of choices that they do now. They had a small pool of suitors to choose from, and married a man from their own class. Peasant women married peasant men, and noble women married noble men.

In those times, a man did not have to win over the woman he wanted to marry; he only needed to win over her parents. They were the ones who could make a marriage happen. People lived shorter lives back then, and had many children. Girls were viewed as a burden, because they could not work the fields as hard as boys. Parents were eager to marry off their daughters and be relieved of the burden.

Feminism's prominence in South Korea is associated with the same rise in "wokeness" in the West. If you remember when it first started in the West feminism was even more emphasized than the racial aspect but it has taken a backseat in recent years. In countries influenced by Western culture that don't have the racial problem then feminism is the main divisive cultural conflict. It is a product of social media + liberal western identity politics that has caused these social conflicts to now saturate all aspects of society.

Which makes the results of this election all the more important.

That guy is only good because many South Koreans will want to unite with DPRK in near future LMAO

He's some form of lolbert sperg who said he'll abolish the minimum wage. He's probably anti-feminist because he thinks women are lazy commies who are paid to do nothing. That might also bounce back in positive direction, because this guy doesn't realize deracination of family is what pumps up capitalism in the first place.

Good for South Korea. Shame it was such a close result, but hopefully Yoon gets something done, unlike Trump. The fact that women do not have to serve in the military but can vote in elections is proof that South Korean women are more privileged than South Korean men.

The election in South Korea hasn't been the top of my interest in the past few weeks but some of the claims people said he is for makes me think there is some stretching of the truth here like saying the work week needs to be 100+ hours, regardless he just seems like another basic neoliberal conservative.

Regarding the whole feminism aspect to it I know Korea and Japan's feminism is a bit more misandrist (or at least openly so) than feminism in the west but it's always worth noting how all leftist/liberal movements and solutions to supposed problems makes things worse. Feminism has only made more men and women hate each other, their solutions on race relations in the US with desegregation/critical race/general woke nonsense has only ,made race relations worse. Every problem they say plagues society they only make said problems worse lmao

South Korea's population needs to decline, it's a country the size of Ireland with 50 times the population, a lot of the stuff you would see about how horrible the education system is for kids there and the high rate of depression and suicide in the country is tied to the population. Having an obscenely high population is basically never healthy and I think East Asian countries need to accept that. That said, you could say this is a victory against global liberalism so that's good I suppose.

      [–]ifuckredditsnitches_Resident Pajeet 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

They have a miniscule tfr and an aging population less children is the last thing they need. What they need is NK to take over and purge most of the boomers there.

Why are you concerned with bringing up South Korean birth rates?

      [–]radicalcentristNational Centrism[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

Because it's an issue affecting all 1st world nations and is arguably the 2nd biggest threat to demographics (the 1st being immigration). If they can reverse it, then it sets an example for us to follow.

      [–]negrogreBeing black is anti-white 0 insightful - 1 fun0 insightful - 0 fun1 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

I meant South Korea specifically. Also I don't believe there is much of an example to follow here.

      [–]radicalcentristNational Centrism[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

      I don't understand your sentence.

The birth rates are an issue in South Korea for the same reason every nation below replacement rate need to address it.

Also I don't believe there is much of an example to follow here.

He just got elected, so keep following.

      [–]negrogreBeing black is anti-white 0 insightful - 1 fun0 insightful - 0 fun1 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

      Let me rephrase it.

Declining birth rates is very important for a nation to address.

I don't get why South Korea addressing this is a good thing for non-South Koreans. The only way I can see it is as a case study of how decline of feminism affects a nation.

      [–]radicalcentristNational Centrism[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Declining birth rates is very important for a nation to address. I don't get why South Korea addressing this is a good thing for non-South Koreans.

South Korea correcting the trend represents a success story. It would serve as proof to other world leaders and governments that you don't need mass migration to save your country from doom.

Of course, they [foreign governments] could always choose to ignore it, but people like us would have this information on file.
