Why are non whites doing the best in the Russian army?

DPR and LPR forces have been very effective, though frankly RF have been too, despite the propaganda. Look at what's been going on in Volnovakha, yo. That said, Kadyrovites have performed well too. Personally I chalk some of this up to Chechens as a people, they have never not been exceptional fighters.

Related note, do we consider Chechens nonwhite? I'm an American so I don't think my opinion really matters on this, but the only Chechens I know are Dudayev and Kadyrov. Both of whom look white to me.

Genetically and linguistically they're cousins to Europeans but definitely not the same. Culturally very distinct for sure.

I see, cousins like Tatars or Armenians, right? Yeah I know their culture is distinct, I guess I just never understood the "subhuman nonwhite Muslim" labels constantly thrown at them. They seem to be very proud and nationalistic people, and like Europeans have suffered a lot over the last century. Even if they aren't "us", I can respect who they are.

Yeah exactly like that I believe they're pretty closely related to those groups. Those labels are just tribal aggression between Chechens and Russians that spreads worldwide through the internet. Some Russians are perhaps understandably upset at the demographic change happening in their country between the two.
