China gave them autonomy for decades from the Mao era, the US realized that they would be a good vector for promoting internal instability so they started funding things like ETIM and pro Uyghur nationalist propaganda. This led to a huge trend of terrorist attacks which was rarely publicized in the West, it was happening on a similar tempo to school shootings in America pre-covid. The worst of it was happening around the 2008 Olympics I believe. Starting in the late 2010s they had enough and started restricting movement in the region and took different measures of social engineering to integrate the Uyghurs into Han society.

The US support of the Taliban is a deliberate attempt to foster insurgency in China, and the current resurgence is deliberately orchestrated by the US for the same reason as last time. Obama himself signed off on allowing the Taliban to have a diplomatic outpost in Doha. Trump continued on those lines, and Biden practically handed the reins to them. So there'll probably be more anti-chink terrorism soon enough.

Of course. This makes sense now. The US funds Muslim terrorists in China, so China puts restrictions on them and now it's "genocide of the poor Muslims" which plays right into the hands of Americans who generally believe that Muslims are an oppressed minority and Muslims who have an eternal victim complex, just like jews.

Has China actually given them any regional legitimacy yet? All I've seen were some aid shipments. And I've also seen some images of some kitted out ETIM guys in Afghanistan so until China and the IEA actually work out a deal nothing is guaranteed. Much of the IEA's support internationally does come from Pakistan which is a Chinese satellite (brilliant how the Chinese stole them from the Americans), so if they do anything stupid then they may lose the Paki support.

The Taliban doesn't really need to openly act up to provide ETIM militants safe haven, and the US and Russia likely both tacitly approve that provided it doesn't spill into their own neighborhoods. If violence happens in China, it's China's problem alone.

Who cares? China can do whatever it wants to its minorities. It's none of our business.

Sure, but it helps to understand where this propaganda originates and what the intended purpose is.

In addition to creating a bigger boogeyman out of China, it seems the elites really do want to pressure China to release the mooslim cancer on themselves. They would love to see more of China turn into a Turk shithole.

which has me thinking there's something like 6,000,000 Weegar lampshades

      I laughed, that's a good one

This is the first thing I've read that doesn't sound like propaganda:

      https://apcss.org/college/publications/uyghur-muslim-ethnic-separatism-in-xinjiang-china/

Sounds like they are sorta terrorists and separatists.

Nothing, media just weaponizes the spectre of Holohoax to fight their enemies, it's pure propaganda.

Watch some Chinese media like CGTN, they do great work of exposing these lies (and they make some kick ass documentaries).

Is there a way to easily stream CGTN?

      They're on YouTube.

CGTN, CGTN Documentary and whole bunch of others, and there's also SCMP, they posted some segments on Uyghurs too.

I have some sympathy for Uyghur mostly because China has been slowly colonizing and sinosizing the region. But US intelligence is clearly using them for propaganda so it's best to just ignore most of what you hear about it.

I guess it's the same as with the Rohingya. Based Asians won't let their countries turn into Syria.
