Yeah I don't believe you, because if you actually believed that your response to someone asking why you didn't get the booster wouldn't be because it's not forced by law, no one who actually believes in the effectiveness of this would be waiting to be vaxxed at gun point, you'd have got it the first day it was available where you live.

Actually no, there are two problems with your post:

  1. Due to supply issues, the boosters being offered in my country are Moderna. Since I've taken Pfizer and it's considered the most effective vaccine, I can only get a 3rd shot when it's actually available.

  2. None of the [current] vaccines were made with omicron in mind. For maximum effectiveness, I would prefer to wait for March and actually get the booster that will tackle it.

In which case, no one should have an excuse to not get it. If the government updates the mandate to include this, I would support it all the way.

But regardless, the entire system needs rework. If international travel was banned, variants would be contained. No new variants = no new vaccines or booster requirements. Pandemic would be over.

Yeah I get that that is your reasoning, but it falls flat when the people you trust are telling you to mix vaxxes, and you don't know what supposed new variant will even be around in march. What is more revealing is when someone asked you why you haven't gotten it and you said it's not required by law.

I assume millions of other people have already mixed vaccines, so I'm not actually afraid or doubt its effectiveness.

and you don't know what supposed new variant will even be around in march.

This is why I continue to advocate for closing down the airports and quarantining the infected. I want to stop future variants before they could spread again.

What is more revealing is when someone asked you why you haven't gotten it and you said it's not required by law.

I'm a lazy person, and our healthcare system right now is still prioritizing 1st & 2nd doses for the people who never got them. If we never had these supply issues, then yea, I would have asked for a 3rd Pfizer booster, just like how I would get a new flu shot.
