A lot of evangelicals like Cruz too, for some reason. Even people in my family are saying they can't wait to vote for him in 2024 to "save America". I should send this clip to them rofl

In my experience evangelicals tend to only be that one-dimensional if they are boomers. I have met plenty of boomers that have that exact mentality. Younger evangelicals will have more nuance, and tend to be chauvinists and libertarians. I personally have seen a strange evangelical cult centered around Ted Cruz, they lionize him as this "based" Christian crusader who will bring back "true conservatism" and will break the democrat hold over the country. Similar to Trump, they say Cruz is a family man who actually stands up for Christian values and will fight for our religious freedom. Zionism doesn't even always come up when I'm talking to them, it's really a secondary issue, at least from a cursory glance, though of course when pressed they are staunchly pro-zionist. It's really a depressing and schizophrenic mindset.
