Did you like the Grand Inquisitor part of the Brothers Karamazov?

Yes, of course, although its take on Christian Theology is befuddling to me. The Grand Inquisitor seems to assert that a problem with Christ and Christianity is so few can actually earn redemption, with express, explicit reference to the Three Temptations of Christ as some sort of litmus test. As far as I know, no theological interpretation predicates Redemption by going through that sort of ordeal.

It does make a very valid point that people can be enslaved by those holding bread. That is why I never bought the "you are free to quit your job if you don't like it" bullshit. Not if you have to pay rent, have studen loans etc....

I feel like we're in an inquisition today. And if Jesus came back he'd be considered dangerous just like he was originally and killed for the same reason.

I need to watch and listen to more commentaries on The Grand Inquisitor. It is also an attack on Catholicism from a Russian Orthodox perspective.
