You're not just encountering standard STDs at this point, but antibiotic-resistant strains as well. Casual sex has made the dating world an absolute minefield. If you're not wearing barrier prophylactics during sex on encounters like these, you're at risk.

Well if they don't care then why should I, well I never did care.

Because it can lead to antibiotic or med-resistant strains of other microbes down the line. We're already running into problems with that.

these often come from south east asia.

Widespread immigration poses some fucked up problems.

Awareness of the drivers of antibiotic resistance, particularly inappropriate antibiotic use, is low among the public and health professionals in most countries of the region.42 Unregulated antibiotic distribution and poor implementation of antibiotic stewardship programmes in humans 27 lead to overuse and misuse of antibiotics. Wastewater management is inadequate. About 75% of wastewater is not treated in the countries of the region and is directly released into the environment, thus contaminating natural drinking water sources where access to piped or improved water supplies is limited.37 Even when water is treated, the effectiveness of removal of contaminants is limited.33

well what sucks about this is that they then of course want to limit the use of antibiotics. But long term antibiotic use is required to kill off some of these bacterias. Another reason these stds run so rampant is they are often asymtomatic in women. Meaning they are disease riddled but feel fine. But then a man gets the bacteria by going raw dog in them and has painful urethritis. Speaking of which Bill Clinton just had that. I guarantee they pumped him full of antibiotics to clear it. Someone not as rich might have to just play thru the pain.

It can go either way with symptom presentation, and you can have asymptomatic diseases between both sexes-- so men won't always present with urethritis nor women with vaginitis. Women contract them more easily because of mucosal tissue, and granted there are some degree of protections there with the natural microbiome of the vagina, but if there's tissue microtearing (or worse with rape) compounded with the prevalence of rape, adultery, and lack of sanitation in developing countries, there's only so much protection you can get. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5437121/#idm139837157127552title

Traditional antibiotics are going to need a quick alternative. Honestly (and I need to look into it more) we should look into Ayurveda practices, and various herbal constituents first. There's a lot of promise there that needs to be tapped into.

Anyhow, unprotected sex is certainly not helping anything. I can't understand the thought processes behind most people, or why they rationalize risky sexual behavior. It's fucking nasty. Like literally the equivalent of letting a stranger spit in your mouth-- but nope, casual sex is celebrated. I'm irritated that Clinton even successfully went into treatment and skirted around his infection, and probably without serious consequences too.
