The difference is the people who explain things in terms of systems, ideologies and incentives and those who see conspiracies behind everything. The alt right especially in the beginning mainly consisted of those who wanted to critique the system in itself. Unfortunately the alt-light has dominated with the critique of the people within the system. Aka it isn't the US government that is the problem, it is the lizard people controlling it that is the problem. The problem with this hyperconspiratorial thinking is that you end up with a worldview with non falsifiable claims, a poor understanding of what is happening and few remedies. It is better to engage in an actual critique of liberalism than to just automatically assume everything is a lie and that there is a conspiracy behind everything.
