looking at their top 10 albums, by far the biggest jump was the "miseducation of Lauryn Hill" [black women artist] which jumped #341 to #10, all the other top 10 ten albums were still in top 100s. The other bigish jumps was Purple rain (#76 to #8) and Songs in the Key of Life by Stevie wonder (jumped from #57 to #4). All black artist

Their also seems to be also a promotion of women artist, blue by Joni Mitchell jumped from #30 to #3. The old top 10 was all men.

What's Going On by Marvin Gaye is now #1 instead of sgt pepper by the beatles (though Ill be honest I prefer that album over sgt pepper though note I never was a big fan of the beatles). Heres a japanese cover of whats going on for some added diversity.

Sgt Pepper isn't even the best Beatles album.

I prefer Abbey Road and the White Album.

abbey road has two of their best songs which were by george but a lot of it is overrated. At least every song on rubber soul or revolver is great. White Album also has a lot of filler. Let it Be might have been their greatest if not messed with by Spector. I like the Let it be Naked album, rocks more.

I never heard someone suggest Let It Be as their best album. I don't believe Let It Be naked was much of an improvement over the original. Spector's version of Across the Universe is amazing and by far the best version.

let it be's not their best album lol not saying that, just that it could have been. That's not the reality tho of course. I don't like the orchestration spector put on that and other songs, too cheesy.

If they were funny they'd make number one something like 'Haven Monahan -- Blood On Shattered Glass'.

If only people were funny still. Norm MacDonald is dead now. Nothing is funny.

As is the usual case with historical movements, expressions of a super-personal soul, the point of highest power, of the greatest victories, is also the beginning of the rapid down-going. Shallow persons always mistake the end of a movement for the beginning of its absolute dominance. Thus Norm Macdonald was looked upon by many as the beginning of a new comedy, whereas, the next generation knew that he had been the last Western comedian.

That should be his epitaph. Well said.

Who gives a fuck about normies mainstream music, except that it is everywhere. Some boomer rock is ok, most of it is shit. Rap much, much worse, Katy Perry and others of her ilk even more vapid.

The cool kids listen to things like hardcore industrial, indie before Nirvana etc.

Boomer music is one of the few good things they did.

Some of it is ok. I don't like want any of it stands for. A lot of it is terrible. Some would not make me want to leave a place. If I so ewhere and I hear Katy Perry, I am looking for the exits.

Does anyone have just the lists condensed to the rankings? I am not reading all that.
